This cabochon has a brilliant luster from inside which makes it attractive upon first glance. To maximize size without sacrificing beauty, I just followed the curve of the stone and polished it according to its size. My history of Crafting
I learned
crafting by experience , enhanced it by chance, and will continue
doing it by choice.
|
I started
selling my own handmade jewelry when i was 8 years old out of desperation to
have money to buy my candy. I made necklaces and earrings made from my
fathers scrap transformers of radios - a copper coated thin wire, and beads
which i took from my sister's ballet costume. I sold my items to my
classmates and made my own money enough to buy my candy, and finally my
father helped me out until I finally ran out of wires and couldn't find
any more scrap radios from my father's collection. There my first journey of
wire and bead crafting began and ended shortly. Then the situation shifted to
learning making roses made of of plastic ribbon when we used to do
bouquets for a lot of occasions. I was just a helper and observer, a young
girl carefully watching those hands making bouquets, and other decorations.
And then there is my father. He carved stones, woods, and anything he can
hold in his hands is made possible into something. Unfortunately, i didn't
get that skill of carving. That became my inspiration and the books that
I have read, and the people who shares the same interest as mine.
|
I considered
crafting as a hobby or something to do when I am not busy. I was making
earrings and necklaces for friends and for myself. I use beads, threads
and wires to do my accessories. And then I was introduced to gemstones
and had the chance to learn to cut and polished my own cabochons. Now
my accessories are varied, mostly made of genuine gemstones found in the
different mining sites of Tanzania , Mozambique and the rest of Africa.
|
For those with
genuine desire for Gemstones, i hope you can find something from my works
which satisfies your passion.

Thank you for
